Sound Waves
As soon as the prompt of Sound was announced my mind went to sound waves. I love the repeat patterns and lines created by the variations and wanted to replicate them in fabric.
My work is a graphic representation of multiple waves all overlapping and probably creating a very discordant noise.
Process
Mistyfuse was fused onto a piece of hand painted fabric
Fabric was cut into 1/4" strips
Strips were laid onto a Goddess Sheet (teflon sheet) and then shapes were peeled off.
Hand dyed fabric was used as the background
Individual units were also created and overlaid
Quilting of the background was done in 1/4" lines with variegated Aurifil cotton and wave like quilting was done in a grey thread
