Because the night ....
Some of our earlier prompts have been transformed into cloth within days. Others have inspired nothing for the longest time until a last minute revelation and some frantic stitching have produced a quilt. But this one falls in the middle. There are so many ways that you could interpret 'night' - my thoughts have jumped from one idea to another idea to another idea. Flitting about but never landing on one idea. But all my thoughts have been accompanied by a sound track - Patti Smith's version of Because The Night.
I have absolutely no idea where this is going to go in cloth but Smith is fierce and unrelenting. She has never limited herself to one art form - she composes, she writes, she photographs. She speaks her mind and stands up for her beliefs. She is 71 years old and going strong. A role model for so many women.
