My Mask
I love this group and creating from prompts. I have never belonged to an art quilt group, and I have never created work in response to prompts. Each prompt has taken me to strange and new places with my work. Still, as much as these group means to me. I can't seem to get the timing right.

So, once again, I am bringing up the rear. I won't worry you with the details of my tardiness. Thinking about this prompt is way more interesting.

I am surprised, but with almost every prompt, I know immediately what I want to do. The question really is whether or not I can piece it.

This time, I knew that I wanted to try and piece a tiki mask or some other sort of tribal mask. I used these masks as inspiration.
I also sketched some simple ideas. I need to always be thinking about seam lines.

My mask still does not have a name.
It is not perfect, but I am really pleased with what I learned from working through this composition.
