Life Imitating Nature

Working with the theme of Ecosystems for our current prompt makes me think of how colonies of insects and animals work together for a common goal. This goal is just to survive but shows there is power in numbers. How clever are these termite ants to build this?

For my quilt I am thinking of beehives and ants nests and wasp nests and even the humble worm farm although I am not sure how worms think.

There appears to be chaos in an ants nest but they each have their role.

Just like in our cities

I have started with a selection of earth shades of hand dyes - lets see where it leads.
